Q1) Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog?
I a vegan girl living in London with my two dogs, Duchess & Lady and my diva moggie Marilyn. I absolutely adore animals and want to make the world a happier place for us all- our furry friends included. My blog is my happy place where I share all of my latest vegan finds. I love to travel, so regularly share vegan hotspots across the globe. I also have a series ‘All The Vegan Questions’ where I answer one popular question each Monday, as I discovered in my transition to veganism that people ask A LOT of questions and sometimes I became stuck on how to answer them. I hope that this series can help fellow vegans find their feet.
Q2) How long have you been blogging and when did you start?
I started blogging early this year, so I’m still very new to the blogging world. I wanted to document my vegan journey; I was a veggie for 4 years and one day I saw a video online highlighting the cruelty of the dairy industry and decided there and then it was time to change. Had the vlogger not posted that video, I may have never opened my eyes to it. The internet is a powerful tool and I hope that my blog can help people see just how easy a vegan diet is.
Q3) What do you enjoy most about Blogging?
It has made me a much more confident and adventurous person. I go to places I would have ever gone to before blogging, so I can share it with my followers. I'm also much more open to speaking to new people -vegans and non vegans! Blogging has become a part of my life, I love sharing new finds to help people eat, drink and shop vegan! There’s a stigma around veganism being really difficult and it’s my aim to change that.
Q4) What do you enjoy least about blogging?
I really love blogging, but it takes up a lot of time. I wish this could be my job, but unfortunately most of us bloggers have to juggle our jobs & personal life around our love for blogging. I try to stick to a schedule, but sometimes life can get in the way. But hey, it’s all a learning experience and sometimes the break inspires me to write different things I probably wouldn’t have thought of if I stuck to the schedule!
Q5) Is there a brand you would love to work with?
I LOVE Lush, they are my weakness. Lush products feature heavily in my beauty regime -their products are so luxurious and irresistible. I’m always in my local Lush checking out their latest additions. I feel they have kinda paved the way for Cruelty Free Cosmetics and hope to see more brands in the High Street totally committing to end animal testing.
Q6) Which brand have you enjoyed working with so far?
It’s not really a brand, but I’m a co blogger on Vegans of LDN and I love what they are about. Serena Lee, the co founder has created a vegan hub for Londoners to share vegan eats around London. There are vegan restaurants popping up all over the place and Vegans of LDN doesn’t let any place slip through the net. Vegan Meet Ups are regularly organised where we can meet new vegan friends and bloggers. It’s such a friendly positive community!
Q7) What advice would you give to a newbie blogger?
Just do you! Don’t get caught up in what you should or shouldn’t do. It takes time to find your own style, so explore what suits you and what YOU enjoy doing. Blogging can be hard sometimes, so you really have got to love it, otherwise what is the point? Be inspired by others, but try to not copy others blogger vibes, it’s transparent and way more interesting when your own individuality shines through!
Q8) Do you have a set time or day set aside to blog or do you just write when the mood takes you?
There are days where I do not leave my laptop and write all day and night, but on the flip side there are also days where I don’t even open my laptop. I try to not pressure myself, as I end up producing something really forced that I’m not happy to post. I have to be in the mood to write, so I try not to force it. If I’m not writing I try to go and do things to write about. Sometimes when I’m stuck and have a block I realise it’s because I haven’t given myself the time to get out of the house and be inspired!
Q9) What is your Fave Social Media Platform?
Twitter by far! It’s been a massive support system for me. There are regularly chats like #veganhour & #ethicalhour where I can meet new people and chat to them about their own journey. If I have trouble writing a blog, I can ask fellow vegans about their own experiences. I love the community you can get on twitter and I just don’t think other social media platforms have that yet.
Q10) Which types of Blog Posts do you enjoy reading?
I enjoy food blogs a lot, because I’m a proper foodie. But I do like everyday personal blog posts, they are almost like a diary entry and it helps you to get to know the blogger. I think it’s important to have that personal touch to your blog, whether you’re writing about the burger you had for lunch or how you’re feeling that day. I try to be as honest and open about my own experiences, so people can feel comfortable to share their own experiences too!
